About Albushra School

Al Bushra Elementary School is a leading Islamic elementary school located in Barrhaven, dedicated to nurturing students who are equipped to fulfill their responsibilities as informed by Islam, through connecting with, loving, and practicing the religion. We strive to inspire a generation of confident and compassionate individuals who embody Islamic values in their daily lives.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) to join our team at Al Bushra Elementary School to teach Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 on a full-time or occasional basis. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Ontario curriculum standards and Al Bushra’s vision and values. 
  • Teach a full range of subject areas, including English, mathematics, science, social studies, and more. 
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of students, including report cards, progress reports and marking. 
  • Establish a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment reflective of the school’s values. 
  • Tailor lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom. 
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and educational initiatives. 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (Primary and Junior divisions). 
  • New graduates pending OCT or other provincial certifications are welcome to apply. 
  • Passion for teaching and motivating students in an Islamic educational setting. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check, First Aid / CPR training (asset). 

Pay and Schedule

  • Salary: Competitive with Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) pay grid. 
  • Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday.
